Brighton, N. Y. /Irondequoit, N. Y. – A clean energy initiative involving three local towns has taken another step forward.
Brighton, Irondequoit and Pittsford had previously announced a partnership as part of a Community Choice Aggregation Program.
Thursday, the three towns announced they have chosen Joule Assets, which has an operating agreement with Roctricity, to act as the program’s administrator.
This means Joule will look for bids for a fixed-rate energy supply.
The supply would deliver 100 percent green energy to taxpayers. Leaders hope the initiative would make energy costs more affordable.
Taxpayers would be able to opt out of the energy supply at any time.
